For the first time ever, the Big Draw Festival was held in Ashton Keynes. The theme of this international festival is “Come back to Colour”, a love letter to each other and the world around us. The colour in our lives and the world around us dazzles in its richness and diversity if we only choose to slow down and look. The world has changed over the last two years and there is no going back to ‘normal’. The theme is not about trying to recapture a time that has been lost – it is about capturing, celebrating, and finding joy with all the beautiful and wondrous things that remain. Participants at the Big Draw Festival here made blue and white cyanotype sun prints using an early photographic technique that was pioneered by Anna Atkins in the 1840s. The ones made at the drop-in workshop are now on display in the Telephone Gallery
