Bees, Blooms, Birds and Baskets is the latest display in the Telephone Gallery. The exhibition showcases mosaics, relief prints, and baskets made by Kathryn Gray, a local community artist and also the gallery’s curator. Kathryn’s colourful mosaics use a joyful mix of materials – old plates, glass, ceramic household tiles, jewellery, as well as traditional mosaic tiles – to make a delightful collection of mosaic bees, birds and flowers. She has recently rekindled her love of basketry and so there are colourful coiled woollen baskets in the exhibition too.
Some of her work is for sale and Kathryn will donate ten per cent of the sale price to two NGOs working in Guatemala.
