At Craft Club in April, community artist Kathryn Gray helped members design their own printing blocks using craft foam and demonstrated different ways to create simple yet effective designs using just a single block. Before printing onto fabric, everyone practised printing onto paper to see how their design worked and then printed onto fabric using special fabric inks. Everyone created amazing designs and thoroughly enjoyed the process. After the exhibition, the fabric will be made into bunting and will be displayed at Ashton Keynes Festival (Wednesday 25th June to Sunday 29th June). More information here: ashtonkeynesfestival.net
Craft Club is a group that meets monthly in Ashton Keynes Village Hall. Those who come typically bring their own projects, but at each meeting there’s usually the chance to try out a new craft idea. In the last few months, we’ve made willow fish, willow dragonflies, Christmas decorations using recycled materials, tissue paper table decoration flowers, and coiled baskets.
