Disco Balls

February’s exhibition is Disco Balls by Class One at Ashton Keynes C of E Primary School. The children have been exploring the idea of celebrating themselves through Art, and what makes each of us unique. Through activities inspired by stories such as Odd Dog Out and Halibut Jackson, the children have talked about individuality, self-confidence and the importance of being proud of who we are.

Inspired by these stories, the class created their own disco balls, experimenting with a range of different colour palettes and colour mixing. The finished artwork reflects the children’s creativity and individuality – just like them, every disco ball is unique and shines in its own way.

The disco balls hang in the centre of the Telephone Gallery and look fantastic with the shimmering gold tinsel backdrop and illuminated by fairy lights at night.
